BLACKPINK’s 3rd Mini Album ‘DEADLINE’ Surpasses 1.77 Million Copies, Setting New Initial Sales Record for a K-Pop Girl Group

Break News, Reporter Park Dong-je — YG Entertainment announced on the 6th that BLACKPINK has set a new milestone by breaking the initial sales record for a K-pop girl group with their 3rd mini-album, ‘DEADLINE.’
According to Hanteo Chart on the 6th, BLACKPINK’s 3rd mini-album DEADLINE recorded total initial sales of 1,774,577 copies from February 27 to March 5. This marks the highest initial sales ever for a K-pop girl group, surpassing their previous album BORN PINK by approximately 230,000 copies.
Even before its official release, DEADLINE had already demonstrated strong popularity, recording nearly 1.9 million pre-orders during the pre-order period alone. On its first day of release, the album sold 1,461,785 copies, setting a new record for the highest first-day sales by a K-pop girl group.
The album also quickly topped the Hanteo Weekly and Monthly charts within just two and a half days, while simultaneously achieving a triple crown on the Circle Chart.
These achievements once again highlight BLACKPINK’s immense global influence and the powerful support of their core fandom. With worldwide demand for the album exceeding expectations and additional production already underway, final sales are expected to rise even further.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK continues to perform strongly on global charts. DEADLINE topped the iTunes Album Charts in 38 regions, including the Worldwide Album Chart. The music video for the title track “GO” also ranked No.1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Chart and the “Most Viewed Video in 24 Hours” chart immediately after its release.
Prominent international media outlets have also spotlighted the album with praise. Rolling Stone described it as “BLACKPINK at their best,” adding that “each member’s individuality shines while collectively delivering the powerful presence that defines BLACKPINK.”
Billboard also praised the title track “GO,” calling it “the standout track of the album and a song that perfectly represents BLACKPINK.”
